TREE FELLING
When a tree needs to be removed entirely, we use precision felling techniques to safely bring it down. In confined spaces, we employ sectional dismantling, carefully lowering parts of the tree using specialist rigging equipment.
CROWN REDUCTION
Reduction in height and/or spread of the crown of the tree by a specified percentage, resulting in shortening of branches to suitable growth points to maintain as far as possible the natural form of the tree. Often used to reduce the effects of shading and light loss.
CROWN THINNING
Removal of smaller branches, usually the outer crown. Often used to allow more light to pass through the tree, reduce wind resistance or reduce weight.
CROWN LIFTING
Lifting of the crown consists of the removal of the lower branches from the main stem. In particular if the branches are causing an obstruction to properties, pedestrians or vehicles.
HEDGE TRIMMING/PRUNING
A well maintained hedge provides a good, smart boundary to any garden. If left unkempt, a hedge can soon lose its shape and cast unwanted shade. With a good pruning schedule you can keep hedges under control. (Tom is one of the best hedge trimmers!)
STUMP GRINDING
After a tree is felled, the remaining stump can be an eyesore or a hazard. We use professional stump grinders to remove the stump and surface roots, leaving the area ready for replanting or turfing.
SITE SURVEYING & PLANNING
We offer free site surveying and we'll obtain planning permission from the council where required on your behalf for trees with preservation orders (TPO's) and trees in conservation areas. There is no additional charge for this.
